We, the Adult Provider Network, have come together as active members of the adult entertainment industry. Our goal is to balance the needs of businesses in our sector, with the guidelines set out by legislators and regulators.
Through good practice, positive ethics and social sensibility, we aim to steer potential future adult-focused regulation. It is in ALL our interests to move towards satisfying the need to protect under-18’s from viewing harmful content, whilst still allowing our industry a level playing field within which we can continue to conduct our business.
Although we are engaged in the provision of adult content for adult viewers, all members of the APN are dedicated to the protection of children and to actively seek the best possible methods of denying anyone the right to view their broadcasts or websites unless they can offer suitable proof that they are over-18.
The APN is actively seeking to recruit new members who can play a role in furthering its aims or who seek the advice and protection that a trade body such as ours can offer. In discussions with companies across the entire genre of ‘adult’ material it has become clear that many operators, large or small, are unsure of the impact of current and planned legislation and are concerned about what the activities of regulation may mean to their business.
The proceedings of all of our meetings and details of the membership lists are strictly confidential. The APN is neither affiliated with, nor working on behalf of, OFCOM or any regulatory authority. We are a business-to-business organisation set up to further our memberships’ collective business interests and to offer business-to-business advice in a fast-changing commercial environment.
